find the right time to ask them for their opinion. tell them about your vietnamese "friend" who's in trouble and is asking you what to do, but give them the details you mentioned here. listen to their advice, then tell them you're actually telling them about your problem. see if they'll be able to put themselves in your shoes. they too were once kids, and need to see the world anew with your western eyes. good luck
