Are natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis, and earthquakes evidence of god's disapproval of humanity?

It's one of the problems with religion. So many think that a god sends down his wrath in the form of natural disasters. A god has nothing to do with hurricanes, floods and tornado's.
