Is it possible to skip the 6 month wait and pay to see an ophthalmologist in Canada?

I'm a student right now and last visited my ophthalmologist about a month ago.What he gave me unfortunately didn't work and now I'm trying to book a second appointment.The first time I waited 6 months for my appointment so I ume I need to wait another 6 months for a second. All I want to know is whether there's an alternative to waiting.
